the interview is conducted as a group but not individual. It is usually five people in one room and it is arranged according to the alphabetical order.
The question might be various and they will ask u to introduce yourrself first.
the panels may ask us to introduce ourself in Malay and answer the question with English.
The interview time cannot be estimate because there might be some interviewer spend a lot of time on asking question.
There is no time given for u to think of the question and they will ask u to answer the question directly.
Prepare urself and its is always good to prepare a script to introduce urself before u go for interview

Well, being too competitive and dominant would cost you dearly in terms of the interviwers' impression of you.
There are people who talk "too much" not chosen, so be moderate but do talk..
the main thing is that the interviewer would observe you all, and let you all discuss the topic for an hour. Through the process, you would be evaluated on your knowledge, leadership abilities, listening skills, presentation skills etc. Do take note that speaking a lot and dominating the discussion would do you no good. Moderation is the key, and you would need to guide others in sharing, and lead the discussion.

For males, I would recommend formal attire - long sleeves with tie, black slacks, black shoes.
For females, formal attire a.k.a. office wear should be fine but I would recommend baju kurung as most of the interviewers are bumiputras.

There's one thing that interviewers usually look out for and that's your handshake. By shaking your hand, the interviewer can make a decent guess about your character. A firm handshake, with a good grip, denotes confidence while a weak handshake denotes the opposite (of course). But, I'd advise not to overdo it. Firm handshake, but no longer than about 2-3 seconds. If not, you might seem a bit overzealous. So, yeah, handshakes do count and are a pretty good indicator of your confidence level.

Another thing that most people tend to overlook is your walking style. Do you timidly trotter into the room (check out the alliteration - haha), march military style into the room or stride into the room? A good walk, positive, head up and facing the world is usually a good sign. Slouching, dragging your feet, and a very slow walk won't be much good. The cliche term "Keep your head up" is a really useful term though. So, stride into the room, all guns blazing, head up and give your interviewer a firm handshake. Show him or her that you mean business.

It is a Conversation
To keep yourself relaxed, think of your interview as a conversation rather than a test. The interviewers are there to learn more about you. View the interview as an opportunity to discuss your goals, plans, and concerns with experienced professionals.

Be Prepared
You can also decrease your anxiety level and improve your experience by anticipating the questions you will be asked. Be prepared to discuss:

* Your background: educational history, employment experiences, family background, and upbringing
* Your academic achievements: class-ranking, grade point average, awards you have won or projects you have undertaken (science fairs, debate competitions, etc.)
* Your future plans: academic plans, career plans
* Your hobbies and interests: extracurricular activities, skills, jobs, etc.
* Your financial profile and needs: income, savings, parent's resources, level of financial need, anticipated expenses, etc. Information about your financial resources is especially important if the scholarship is need-based.
* Your personal "value structure": the things you think are important in your life. Information about your personal value structure helps the interviewers determine whether you would serve as an appropriate representative for their organization.

Do Not Forget the Basics
To keep your interview running smoothly:

* Be punctual. Check the interview time and location before leaving home
* Make a good first impression. When you meet the interviewers, introduce yourself, make eye contact, and use a firm handshake.
* Be brief and honest with your answers. Try to sum up your thoughts quickly. Interviewers will ask follow-up questions if they want to know more.
* Have some questions ready for the interviewers. Prepare these questions in advance by researching the sponsoring organization, school, or company.
* Be prepared to reiterate the basic information you supplied on your application. Review your application before the interview to jog your memory.
* Do not be negative. Interviewers value the individual who perceives difficult situations as challenging and interesting.
* Do not be afraid to say "I don't know" or ask questions. It is better to ask for clarification than to miss an opportunity to produce an insightful answer.
* Do not chew gum, bite nails, smoke, yawn, stretch, or slouch.
* Show your appreciation. Thank the interviewers for their time at the end of the interview.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a) It would start with a briefing. They would tell you which course has too many applicants etc. They would give some general recommendations, like they need people for this course etc. They might suggest students to switch to a certain course, if you wish. It would be a general briefing. And at the end, there would be a Q&A. If you want to get noticed, you should prepare a good question to ask then. Mention your name when you ask, and speak clearly and confidently.

b) there will be a test. The format of the test is unknown as of now. It could be an IQ test, a psychology test, an essay writing, or practically anything under the sun. Get prepared for any kind of test. It could even be a general knowledge test on Malaysia....

c) Interview - Group Discussion (Group of 6 or so). You might be given some warm-up question, like intro yourself, some basic question on what you plan to apply etc. And then a topic is given, and it would be up to you to discuss.

Some pointers to consider for the Group Discussion:-
1. Pitfall No 1:- Never over dominate the discussion. You need to participate actively, but don't over dominate. Everything is in moderation.

2. Try to plan the discussion and structure it. Eg, if you get NS as the topic. Try to lead the discussion (just like you would do in a typical forum), by setting the discussion pace, eg, like get everyone to discuss on definition, scope of discussion, and then on stuff like benefits of NS, areas for improvement etc. Do try to lead, but don't fight to lead.

3. Be attentive to others' points. Listening is crucial. Try to summarize discussion every 10-15 minutes. Lead the discussion flow. If the discussion goes out of topic, try to lead it back. If the discussion hits a deadlock, like two people are just arguing back and forth, try to moderate. Do it nicely and professionally.

4. Try to encourage everyone to discuss. If there is a group member that is very quiet, try to encourage him or her to give opinion. Try to guide him or her.

5. Try to do good time planning for the discussion. And end the discussion with a good summary.

6. Try to give a solid point. It is about quality of your argument, and not quantity. A lot of people thought that the more they speak, the better they are. When you give a point, do substantiate it with argument and example. Solid examples will showcase your involvements, and those examples can indirectly showcase some of your achievements too. Eg:- say, you are talking about encouraging reading habit. You can give example of how you encourage your classmates to read, and you yourself have a very strong passion in reading. Use concrete example with statistics if possible. That shows you are well-read.

7. Essentially, this group discussion, is just like a meeting. JPA officers will observe. You participate in a meeting. You should show good leadership, management, communication, analytical, listening skills etc.
